Hi

I have a client who, when opening RA Desktop, do not see all previously opened companies even though the setting shows 10 Last Companies.

I have seen this before, and I think there is a Registry Key that needs to be edited.

Any ideas will be appreciated

    Hi John

Just confirming, this relates to Reckon Accounts Hosted which this post has been created under, correct?

If so, then I'd suggest starting off with the steps outlined in this help guide -

    Good afternoon @Big Hat,

Have you potentially tried to run Reckon Accounts Desktop as administrator? Sometimes there may be a permission issue and the software does not remember the last file opened.

Could you please tell me how you go?

    Thank you and speak soon.

    Hi @Big Hat,

    • The info about the Most Recently Used files (MRU) is typically stored in a file called QBW.INI which is normally in the installation folder of the software (or search using Windows Search)
    • If you open it (check your own QBW.INI) it should show a section that indicates how many files to list in the most recently used files list.
    • MAXMRUFILES=5 and a section called [MRUFILES_STANDARD_STRATUM] or [MRUFILES_BEL_STRATUM] which has lines that say "FILE1=XXXXXXXXXXXXXX", "FILE2="YYYYYYYYYYYY"
    • If there is no section like that in the QBW.INI then that could explain why nothing is coming up in the No Company Open areas of the program when they open the application.
