Reckon hosted to Reckon One Accounting Plus - Anyone?

Good Morning

Can I get feedback from those who have changed from Hosted to Reckon One? We are a sizable construction business with around 70 employees. RECKON HOSTED: we have used it for many years; however, we have some issues with instability, auto logoff, screens not loading and random dropouts. I have had internet connections tested and upgraded but only have problems with Reckon everything else works fine. I want something more automative to make invoicing, reconciling, and payroll quicker. Is Reckon One only for smaller businesses? I love all the functions of HOSTED. I'm just looking for something that may save us some time.

    Hi @Kat001

While they are both cloud accounting software services, they're quite different in a lot of ways.

Firstly, Reckon Accounts Hosted is a more mature software in terms of its features and functionality. Its based on our Reckon Accounts Enterprise software but with the added benefits of the cloud ie. you can login from an internet browser on any PC. Its more advanced and its features cover a broad spectrum for small to enterprise level accounting software requirements.

Reckon One is the newer kid on the block and its a cloud service built on newer technology and uses our next-gen payroll solution called Reckon Payroll which would be really handy for your staff. While its not as rich or deep as Hosted in terms of functionality for larger businesses, its an awesome solution for small business and is continually evolving.

Each software has its own way of doing things so if you're using Hosted already at the moment then my recommendation to you would be to give Reckon One a test drive first by taking out a free 30 day trial and see how it works for you and your requirements.

I'll add some info on Reckon One here - https://www.reckon.com/au/accounting-software/

If you have any questions, let us know 🙂

    .Hi Rav,

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your feedback. However, I was specifically seeking input from those who have transitioned from Hosted to Reckon One. I'm unsure about its capabilities regarding the volume of work, such as handling invoices, employee numbers, speed, and any potential dropouts. Are there significant differences in performance? Does it cater more to medium-sized businesses, or is it primarily designed for smaller companies?

I understand that every business is unique, and it's great that Reckon offers a 30-day trial. However, it feels like a big commitment to switch, and if it doesn't meet our needs, it would be difficult to revert. I do like the functionality of Hosted, but I wish it had more automation features like those found in Reckon One, Xero, or MYOB. I'm looking for a solution that can help reduce manual data entry, and have the ability to automate monthly invoices.

    Thank you!

    Hi Kat001,

I have recently migrated from Hosted to Reckon One. I have a small company of 5 staff, so cannot comment on it's suitability for medium companies. But I have found Reckon One to be simple to learn and its automation of importing bank transactions is better than Hosted. Some things are missing as far as I can see though. Memorising bills doesn't seem possible. Instead you have to copy an old invoice and edit it, even though the bills are recurring monthly eg rent. Also classes were a feature of Hosted that I now have to live without. So it does require you to change the way you are doing things.

Hope that is of some benefit

    Hi @DrPepper
Thank you very much for your post. I really appreciate it. It seems more suitable for smaller businesses, so I will need to explore other alternatives. Thank you for your valuable feedback.
