Change of entity

Hi

I have recently changed the entity (from a partnership to a company) that run the business. I use Reckon payroll. How do I effect this change on Reckon Payroll and can I export the current employee to the new file?

    Hi @Wai, welcome to the Reckon Community 🙂

    You have the ability to change your entity type in your existing Reckon One book. Click on Settings icon in the top right corner ➡️ Book Settings ➡️ Click the Entity Type field and select the new entity type from the dropdown list.

    To clarify, I will not need to set up a new book for the new entity and can just change the entity in the book setting as instructed above? Would this then change the single touch payroll reporting as well? That any pays process after the change of book setting will be lodged under the new ABN?

    Are you retaining the same ABN in this change or is that changing as well?

    In that case I'd suggest creating a new book in your account for this new entity.

    You can create a new book in your existing account by logging into your Reckon Portal account here and clicking Add Product in the top right corner ➡️ Reckon One ➡️ Follow the prompts to setup your book.

    Hi @Wai

    Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. No, there isn't a way to transfer data between two books unfortunately.

    I'll tag @Ankit who is from our data migration partner MMC Convert, just to see if there's anything he can advise around options from a migration point of view?

    Sorry for the delay

    Since a new Reckon One book is needed due to the ABN change and direct data transfers aren’t supported, we at MMC Convert can assist with migrating your employee data from the old book to the new one.

    Scope of Work Includes:

    • All employee details (name, address, contact, hire date, TFN, leave setup, bank info, super fund)
    • All pay items (salary & wages, allowances, deductions, super, leave)
    • Employee YTD balances (salary & wages, super, PAYG, leave balances)

    Note: We do not migrate individual pay runs. Instead, we post journal entries or expense transactions to reflect payroll-related activity for the migration period.
