Hi,

Ive been working on Reckon Hosted for many years 10+ but am finding it a bit cumbersome and dated and was considering migratiing to Reckon one accounting Plus… I have a couple of questions;

  1. would this be seen as a backwards step or is the interface of reckon one more user friendly, Particularly for someone who is not at all accountant minded.
  2. One unique quirks of my business means that I need to pay royalties on products sold. I am assuming that there is no feature for this (as there is not in hosted) but I can handle this using a third party data management app. To do this however I need to run fortnighly reports of item sold, split into 2 groups of Australia/Newzealand and then Rest of World. This would need to be exported in csv or similar format.Can this be done in reckon one?

Thanks for your help

    Hi there @Portman, welcome back to the Community thanks so much for being such a long-time user of Reckon Accounts Hosted 🙂

    While they're both cloud solutions, Reckon Accounts Hosted and Reckon One are two very different platforms in a number of ways such as the technology they run on, their features, and overall functionality.

    Reckon One is a modern, cloud-based solution that offers a much more user-friendly and intuitive interface, especially appealing for those who don’t have an accounting background. Many users find the streamlined design much more straightforward and easier to navigate, particularly for those looking for simplicity.

    With that said, Reckon Accounts Hosted is a more mature software in terms of its features and functionality. It offers deeper functionality and more advanced reporting capabilities, which can be important depending on your business needs.

    In regard to your second question, that may be a little harder for me to answer but lets start with the basics first. How are your items currently grouped to show sales by item for AU/NZ & the rest of the world?

    Is the 3rd party data management app that you're using integrated with your Reckon Accounts Hosted file currently? Or do you operate that separately/independently from your file?

    While Reckon One does have a report that shows sales by item (example below), the filtering/customisation options in the report are somewhat limited so I don't think its going to show you splits in this way.

    Either way, I would strongly recommend giving Reckon One a test drive first by using the free 30 day trial to see if hits the right notes in terms of your requirements, or give our team a call on 1300 756 663 and our customer service team is more than happy to have a chat to make sure things are right for you.

    Let me know if you have any questions 🙂

    THanks for your feedback .. the 3rd party app is Not integrated I just upload the data from a CSV file.

    Alternative to the sales by item report - could I do an itemised sales by ALL customers - and then filter based on thier location (AU/NZ & ROW)? - it is not ideal but I can probably do it this way too.
