I cannot help but notice how incredibly slow RAH is after the latest update. Especially trying to run reports.

  • I am a single user of the program.
  • I rarely have multiple windows open.
  • My streaming mode is set to best performance

My internet speed is not wonderful, but was sufficient prior to the upgrade

My screen shot from the performance tool in RAH is

Anyone else at their wits end with this slow program. Almost unusable in my opinion.

    Morning @Sam_Sirus

Which report(s) are you generating specifically when you notice the dip in speed? Is it occurring across all reports or a specific one?

It might be a difficult one to answer but how much slower would you say it is in comparison to what you had previously?

Which browser are you using and does the same thing occur on a different browser as a test?

Lastly, what is the condition of your file? Do you perform regular maintenance on your file?

    Hi Rav

It is across all reports and the general running speed of the program. I'd say 30% slower on a program that was always slow in my opinion to switch between windows and reports.

I am using Microsoft edge and haven't noticed any change with other browsers.

Condition of the file? No idea. Perform regular maintenance? No, can you please let me know how to do that.

    Thanks Sam

    Hi @Sam_Sirus

It's important to regularly maintain your company file, especially if you're using Reckon Accounts Hosted, to keep things running smoothly and get the best performance.

I'll link an article regarding this:

How do i create a portable back up file? Ie one that is not stored on the "b" drive.

    Hi @Sam_Sirus

Sorry, I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "one that is not stored on the b drive.

Here is our article on backing up and restoring a file.

If you don't want it stored in the b drive, you can download a local copy by going into the My Files section of the toolbar, after you have created the backup.

Let me know if I have misunderstood your question.😊

I thought I was the only one strugling with how slow the program is after the upgrade as we have quite a big company file. Just to get into the customer center on my file takes ages after this upgrade and it was already slow before the upgrade. At this rate I think I will have to look into some other accounting programs. It is just rediculous.

If it was slow before and after the upgrade like you've said, then the upgrade itself won't have anything to do with it. The condition of your file is the likely the bottleneck.

Since you've mentioned that it's a large file, how large is it exactly?
