ABN already registered - Trying to set up STP following the instructions

Hi Rav
You asked Trevor and I to start a separate thread in order to help with setting up STP.
My ABN is 42617698772 and keeps telling me it is already registered. The email address I am using is my work email andrea@farmcam.com.au. I have just purchased Reckon Accounts Hosted to upgrade the old Desktop 2011 - 12 version.
Please help.

Thanks for getting back to me Andrea,
From what you've described, you're doing everything right so its a tad strange its not appearing.
Would you like me to delete the ABN registration from GovConnect so you can try registering it again? It should go through without a problem but let me know.

If you think that is the best solution lets do it!!.
I have just upgraded to 2019R2 and processed payroll. I selected Process STP in the hope it would let me in, but noooo. Still back to the same screen saying the ABN is already set up.
So yep, lets delete and retry please.

No problem, I've gone ahead and done that now. If you're still logged in to your Portal account, please logout and give it a couple of minutes before logging in again.
Register your ABN again and it should go throughout any trouble but let me know either way.

So far so good. I selected STP from the employee drop down list. I signed in and it has allowed me to enter the ABN and move to the next screen
Now on hold with the ATO to register the Software ID.

Hi Rina,
I've had a look at the ABN in our system and there aren't any errors affecting this ABN registration. From what you've described it sounds as though you're not logging in to the same Reckon Portal account that the ABN was registered under.
Can you please login to the Reckon Portal with the correct email address & password used when the STP entity was first created.0 -

Hi Rina,
No, the ABN is in a Reckon Portal account that has been registered with a business email address. Its not the under the abelflags user name. I'm not going to disclose the login credentials here but it looks to be a generic email address for the business.0 -

Your ABN registration had an error which I've now removed. If you try to register the ABN on the GovConnect service again now it should go through without a problem.0 -

Hi John,
I think what is happening here is you're logging in with a different email address to what was used when the ABN was first registered.
When I take a look at your ABN registration in our system it shows up as registered under a business email address with the same domain as the email address you've used to register for this Reckon Community account (but different email address). Hopefully that helps you to track it down.0 -

Hi Melissa,
I've had a look at that ABN and its all ok in terms of no errors with the registration. I think where you're running into trouble is because the ABN/STP entity has been registered in a different Reckon Portal account ie. not registered under that email address.
Instead, it looks like you're a Reckon Accounts Hosted user so just login to the Reckon Portal with your Hosted login details ie. Hosted user name & password.
You should see the STP entity after logging into the Portal with these details.

i tried using Hosted user-name & password and it says that user name not registered. I remember creating account using the business email & it all looked good to go when i did it a few weeks ago, but now it doesn't seem to have the ABN linked when i login.

Hi Rav,
Same issue happened to me, this is our company's ABN: 43001535691, once i registered with my email and pw, then required to input the ABN number, but after it the "next" button dose't work.
for this issue could you please help to check it and please guide me how i can access Reckon successfully or not.

Ok this should be sorted for you now. If you can go ahead and try to register your ABN into your app account now it should go through without an issue.

Hi, thought I did everything ok, but ATO has said they can see I've tried to send the stp but they haven't got it, cos possibly some common reporting issues, eg missing info. However, I dont appear to have received anything from you, so I have no idea what might be happening. Are you able to have a look? please.0

I've had a look for that ABN however its telling me it does not exist on the Australian Business Register. Can you please double check the number.

Hi Rav,
Sorry, there was a little bit of a mix up with which client it was that needed STP registration. I tried again with the other client was able to register with Reckon GovConnect without any issues, so all good now. Thanks for your help!
