Export only Active customers and Suppliers to IIF
Hi Everyone
I am creating a new Reckon company file from an old Reckon file. Need to import only active customers and suppliers.
Is there a way only to import active customers? If I go File>>Utilities>>Export>>>>IIf Files. all customers are exported active and inactive.
Thanks

Unfortunately not - it will pull through all.
The only workaround is to then delete them out of your new company file (Not sure how many you have but you can shoot through the list quite quickly by using the down arrow โฌ๏ธ & hitting Ctrl + Delete as there won't be any data under any of them ๐ฌ)
Failing that, there may be a 3rd party provider who has/can write a tool that could do this @PhuongDo or @cosmic ?

Thank you @Acctd4
We have processed transactions against thr customers, so we are unable to delete in original file. Will delete after them are imported to the new file. Think deleted customers stay in Reckon. Might try deleting from the iif before import.

The process only imports the List database (not actual transactions) so when you import the list into your new file, there wonโt be any transactions under any of the names ๐ฌ

Hi @megan
Open the exported IIF in Excel.
When opening the file, have Excel set all data to be interpreted as TEXT.
Locate the column ISHIDDEN which represents whether the specific name is
ACTIVE = N,
INACTIVE = Y
You can sort the rows by that column.
You can remove the ones that are inactive.
Then save the resulting file as a Plain Text Tab-Delimited file format with the file extension ".IIF" which you can then import into your new data file.
