Mouse Scrolling

For some reason when scrolling through reports using the mouse it is really fast when hardly touching the wheel. This is happening in Reckon Accounts Hosted only and started happening last week. My computer settings are correct and it works at normal speed in all other programs.

I am having the same problem and it's driving me nuts! The only time I am having trouble with mouse speed (scrolls super fast) is when I am in Reckon Hosted. No other program is doing this.

Drives me nuts too JennyV, I am having to use the scroll bar on my reports which takes a long time when they are long. At first I thought it was just me or my mouse settings had changed, but I have checked everything. :-(

Does anyone have a resolution to this problem? When I scroll in Reckon it scrolls too far. Changing mouse settings has no impact. It happens on any browser I use on my computer, but only with the Reckon app (everything else seems ok). And problem only seems to happen on my desktop (not my laptop).

    Hi @SMG

What specific make / model of mouse hardware are you using?

What mouse manufacturer specific software (such as configuration software) do you have installed?

In some reported cases on the web, a similar scrolling speed issue was due to the mouse manufacturers configuration software, removing it resolved the issue.

What operating system are you running?

Since it happens on 'any browser' on your desktop, what web browsers have you already tried this with?

Are those same web browser unaffected on your laptop?

What add-ons or extensions do you have enabled on those web browsers that are affected on your desktop that may not be present on the web browsers on your laptop?

Consider turning off temporarily any add-ons or extensions that may be active on the web browser, then reboot the desktop PC, then launch the web-browser and login to the Hosted platform, to test if the same problem persists.

    Good morning,

I am currently using a logi M650 mouse, I can't recall the previous mouse brand I used but it was different and was when the issue started, I had been using that mouse for several years before I had the issue. This new mouse has the same issue, that started 3 years ago.

    Microsoft Corp. 10.0.19041.3836 (WinBuild.160101.0800)

    Windows 10

    Chrome

    Only use laptop

This issue is only on the Reckon Accounts file, it does not happen with any other program.

If I update the driver, I get "The best drivers for your device are already installed"

    Hi @Kerrie H

For Logitech mice, they may have configuration software called:

    "Logitech SetPoint"

    "Logitech Control Centre"

    "Logitech Options"

    "Logi Options+"

Confirm whether you have any of those installed as that may allow you to configure the scroll behaviours of your mouse.

Your mouse may have "Smooth Scrolling", "SmartShift", 'Ratchet" or "Freespin" behaviours which can be assigned to the scrolling function of the mouse.

If you have one of those mouse configuration software, check what scrolling behaviour settings are available for you to change.

Alternatively, consider un-installing the configuration software so that your mouse is only recognised as a generic mouse by the Windows operating system, to see if this makes any difference in the scrolling behaviour you are experiencing.

In Windows itself can you confirm what your mouse wheel scroll settings are set to in the Windows Control Panel or the Windows Settings? (i.e. how many lines it is set to scroll)

Finally got around to working this out. I had to download "logi options plus" software and turn off smooth scrolling on the scroll wheel. So far so good, thank you for your help :)

Thank you Kerrie H. Your answer fixed the problem immediately for me too. The logi options plus software was already on my computer, I opened it and found the setting for the smooth scrolling and turned it off. Months of frustration sorted in a second! Thank you!
