Converting an accountants copy (QBX) to a working file in Reckon Accounts Premier Accountant Edition

I am trying to convert an accountants copy (QBX) file into a working file in Reckon Accounts Premier Accountant Edition 2020 and I keep getting an error message

"Error in reload.sql at line 30486. Sybase message: Cannot convert hex string to a varbinary. The bad value was supplied for column 'data_fld' on line 429 of the data file.

How can I convert the accountants copy into a working file? Can anyone help me with this?

Hi @KarenS

Is the file located on a USB/removal storage device? If so, can you please move it to a local destination on your PC and try again.

Also, does the file you are trying to convert have a long file name? ie. longer than 28 characters?

The file is located on the desktop of my PC and the file name is only 17 characters long.

The error indicates that the original QBW file which generated that QBX file has problems.

Do not use that QBX file.

Recommend that a file integrity check Verify Data / Rebuild Data / Verify Data operation be performed on that damaged QBW file.
