Hosted 2023 - why wait to update
Hi all,
Just wondering about it being "strongly recommended" not to update until after finalising the 2022/23 financial year.
I will be working from the road for a month beginning 24th June, ending 21st July, in limited network areas. I am also the only person who can be responsible for many account keeping actions, including wages. As such I need the software to all be up to date before I leave so I can just perform the basic functions, without worrying about the time & internet needed for larger endeavors (like updates and running the STP2 migration assistant)
My question is; Can I update now? Why the 'strong recommendation" not to?
Thanks for any clarification

Hi @Jess Miller
You're more than welcome to upgrade now, however please note the 2023 version will only accept STP Phase 2 employee, pay run & STP submission information. So if you do decide to upgrade now, the first thing I'd recommend that you do after you're up & running is complete the STP Phase 2 Migration Assistant so that you can update your employee & pay item information to phase 2 requirements.
I'll add a couple of links below that might be helpful -
