The instructions indicate to unstill Reckon Accounts 2023 prior to installing this update, is this correct as we have never had to uninstall a version before any updates?
1 -
After logging into the Members Area using the link in the announcement above, click on Download Software and select your Reckon Accounts Desktop 2023 version from the list. Go through the installation as normal and once complete, open your file in the software. You can verify that you're on the new release by going to Employees âž¡ Tax Table Information âž¡ Tax Table Info âž¡ You'll see the v1.0.2 stamp
Its a new install of the existing 2023 edition so it'll require a new installation. If the company file has already been upgraded to the 2023 version previously then it'll just open up as normal in the new edition.
Yes that's correct, if you have Reckon Accounts Desktop 2023 currently installed then please uninstall that and download & install the latest release which includes the bug fixes above.

My tax table version is v1.0.1 but has the same parameters as the info depicted on the v1.0.2 tax table screenshot:
- 2324321Â as your Tax Table Version number.
- 01/07/2023Â as the date which "Calculations are updated for:" *.
- Any pays processed in the 2022/23 financial year will be processed with the 2022/23 PAYG Scales.
- All pays processed in the 2023/24 financial year will use the new PAYG Scales.
As I am not impacted by any of the three issues mentioned, do I have to do this update?
Cheers

You can remain on your existing v1.01 installation if you wish however we recommend to update to the new release just so you're future-proofed in the event you're affected by any of the issues outlined above at some point in the future.

So how do we uninstall our current version before installing the updated version? All the help sections suggest is to do this but don't show where or how.

After uninstalling the previous 2023 version and installing the new version I am now receiving an error message when I try to open a company file ... "cannot find the language resource file (dblgen9.dll"
I tried running a repair maintenance and restarting my computer. Still same error.

I'd recommend checking out this help guide for info on how to resolve that error message -

Can't we just uninstall and then reinstall? I am trying to go through the manual steps to remove intuit files and not all of them can be removed, now having trouble with the registry files, it all seems like hard work just to reinstall an update when each year it's just a straight update to the next version 😣
1 -
@Priscilla_Ognenis Just uninstall the software through the control panel for a quick and easy way of doing it. Its the same as when you uninstall every year for the new version.

Thanks Eric, I will try that, I asked yesterday for the process to uninstall and reinstall and in the above comments they have suggested a "clean uninstall and reinstall" but the manual process of removing files is becoming daunting. I need to have it back up and running asap. I will try that now, but I have uninstalled most of it already so I hope I can find it there.

Hello Rav
Can you please advise if it is necessary to uninstall the program or can the new updated version be installed as we usually do each year? will the new updated version override the existing 2023 one?
Thanks, Ann
1 -
No, it's gone from there. What would happen if I just reinstall now without manually removing the registry keys? and does it really have to be reinstalled in selective startup mode....this is confusing and ridiculous. I don't even have payroll so I should have left it well alone 😣

Hi Ann
The new release is an updated version of the existing 2023 edition of Reckon Accounts Desktop so in this case it will require an uninstallation of the existing one you have prior the new one being installed.

Hi Rav
Thanks for the confirmation on installation.
Is this required to be done asap or by a particular date/deadline?
Thanks
0 -
No, there's no rush Ann. This new release includes fixes for the specific issues outlined in the opening post above so if you've encountered any of those then its better to install it sooner rather than later but if not, then you can do so at your convenience.

Can I just install my 2023 new version onto a different computer, I have had a lot of trouble with the uninstall and it has now crashed & I am madly trying to recover my data. I suggest that people ask for professional help. I assumed this was going to be a quick & easy fix, but just wondering how I go about installing on a separate computer now as I really need to get back up and running asap. I have a copy of all the licence & key codes etc.

Update: After my computer crashed 24 hours ago, and a sleepless night of trying to reboot, reset & backup, I took to repairer. 4 hrs later it was fixed and up to yesterday's restore point. I downloaded the new version and called your tech dept who remotely reinstalled the update. I recommend anyone to do this instead of trying to go through those confusing steps of uninstalling remnant files. I now have my new updated version working perfectly with my restored company file. What a difference a day makes 🤗

Hi Rav
Can you explain further about this one?
✅ FIXED - Total gross in the STP file not being adjusted when Salary Sacrifice is present resulting in an incorrect amount populating in the BAS Label W1 Prefill from the ATO Business Portal.
I thought one of the main changes of STP2 was that the ATO want to capture the un-adjusted GROSS at W1, so when I checked the pre fill at W1, I thought it is all correct. Are you saying its incorrect, and should be the same as it was in STP1, with Adjusted Gross at W1?

Hi Team
After re-installing, my liabilities are incorrect. Super and tax reports are showing correctly but the liabilities are showing as different negative amounts. How do I fix this?
Kiewa

Please disregard my query, shutting down and opening up again seems to have corrected the liabilities.
Good outcome.

Hi Rav, So is it correct that the original 2023 .exe file and the supposed Update .exe file are named the same in the download link (Reckon_Accounts_Business_Range_2023_R1.exe)
Because we are 5 user, 5 logins, with Data File on it's own server, I don't want to go through a complete uninstall and re-install on all 5 computers if the link above is not the correct link for the August 2023 update???
The 1st installation process was an absolute complete nightmare with Windows 11, more so with having to update inbound and outbound rules.

Hi @1154226
The previous versions of Reckon Accounts 2023 that were released prior to the one specified above have been removed. If you download Reckon Accounts 2023 from your Members Area, it will be the current v1.02 release outlined the OP.
The default file name of the install .exe is Reckon_Accounts_Business_Range_2023_R1

We have uninstall and updated to the new version. all reports in Reckon are showing correctly in regards to the Salary Sacrifice however the file submitting to the ATO in both last financial year (2022-2023) and the current financial year are reporting the salary sacrifice in the gross.
I do have a case number in relation to this CAS-265678
We are using desk top version Accounts Premier Edition 2023

Hi Rav
I have checked this, we only have the Salary Sacrifice (SS) to choose from. I have even looked to see if it could be set up as a new item but this also only gives the option of Salary Sacrifice (SS) .
0 -
The Salary Sacrifice Super (S) is a tax tracking type whereas from what you've described, it sounds like you're looking at the super contribution type for the item.
The screen where you'll find the new (S) tax type selection is on the Tax Tracking Type screen when editing the existing salary sacrifice item. Example below 👇

Thank you Rav.
Do I now have to edit each pay cheque for the people who salary sacrifice for last financial year then re submit the stp in the portal and finalise year?
The re do the same for this financial year?
0 -
Configuring a Payroll Item's Tax Tracking Type selection will update all uses of it automatically, however it's best practice to be checking your STP figures before each submission. That way, you know they're correct every time & will still be so when you Finalise.
Check them now in RAH (for the full 2023 FY) against what your original Finalise ... submission shows.
Once they're displaying correctly in RAH, just generate & submit a new Finalise Year Pay Event & this will override & update your original finalisation 😊
