Hosting Session disconnected after 5 minutes

Just wondering if there is a way to stop Reckon shutting down after just 5 minutes of inactivity?

I go over to make some notes on wages, come back and it has shut down, then I have to go through the process of logging back in and then had to Log off 2 remote sessions to get back in, it seems to be doing this all the time now? Then it took me 3 attempts of opening and closing to get it up and running again.

Surely it should stay active longer than this, otherwise I will need to switch to Enterprises to use Reckon files.

Help!

    Hi @Barbara Allen-Guthrie

I know this is going to sound silly but I'll ask anyway, are you sure you've been inactive in the file for such a short period of time and not say, an hour or more?

The reason I ask is, if you've been inactive in your file for an hour the session will go idle and that message from your screenshot will appear on-screen. When that happens you can reconnect to the existing session and pick up where you left off if you reconnect within an hour of that message first appearing ie. 2 hours in total since being inactive in the file.

After that, the session will end and you'll need to start a new session. More info on this here - How do sessions work in Reckon Accounts Hosted? 💻

Thanks Rav, but definitely know it was literally 5 minutes as I was in the middle of doing wages, and just flipped over to check some figures. I read the more info and that was helpful and makes sense, but I thought I might be able to extend the time, I will do some watching and see how long it lasts.

But one query that sheets states: e highly recommend saving your work as you’re progressively working in
your company file. If you’re going to be away from your PC or don’t need
to use your file for an extended period of time, you may want to
consider closing your file (File ➡️ Exit) while you’re away to avoid
    your session from being interrupted.

I have never saved my work, how do I even do that?

Good question. To clarify that, there isn't actually any specific step or action I'm referring to there but more just completing what you're working on.

Say for example, you're halfway through entering an invoice and need to leave the file idle for an extended period of time to do something else.. in that case I'd suggest hitting the Save button on the invoice before doing so in order to ensure what you've entered has been saved.

That's just an example but its more about ensuring you don't leave something incomplete that may be lost if the session ends abruptly.

Hopefully that makes sense and doesn't confuse matters more.
