A client has provided an accountants copy of their Reckon Hosted file. How do I restore the file to be able to use it? I don't seem to be able to restore qbx file types and can only restore qbw or qbb. Thank you.

    Morning @sharonc

To convert an accountant copy to a working fine, you are required to open the File by following the steps mentioned below -

    • Open Reckon Accounts Software
    • Go to File
    • Click on Accountant's Copy and Select Convert Accountant's Copy Transfer File

Once you click on that, it will allow you to select your QBX file.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if any concerns. Thank you!

    Regards

    Tanvi

Thanks Tanvi. I don't seem to have those options, they are greyed out.

    Hi @sharonc

Some menu options are unavailable, depending on what screen you are on or if a data file is not currently open.

In the screenshot that Tanvi had provided, she has available the "Convert Accountant's Copy Transfer File" option.

That is available if you have an "Accountant Edition" installed.

For other editions such as the "Enterprise Edition (General Business)", only the "Create Accountant's Copy", "Import Accountant's Changes" and "Cancel Accountant's Changes" options would be present.

Check to see if you have a "Toggle to Another Edition" menu option available.

If you do, then you could toggle to the "Accountant Edition".
