Template text box

Hi everyone,
I have a Quote/Estimate template where I have added a text box to create terms and conditions I would like included on the form. I have made the box large enough to fit my text, however, when I add the text to properties, I can't fit in all required text. Is there a limit on characters available or has anyone found a better workaround?
Thanks

Hi @Julie C ,
Thank you for your query.
I have attached an article that provides information on the character limits in various sections of Reckon Accounts. Please click on the link below :
Additionally, I did some research on simplifying the character counting process and found a useful character counter tool that you may consider using.
I hope this helps. If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks Reeta,
The calculator was useful, I have around 2000 characters. How would I create a note or memo field on the quote template?

Hi @Julie C
Separate the text into multiple text boxes & remove the borders π

Hi @Julie C ,
Iβve tested this on my end, and it appears that we cannot directly add a memo or note to the estimate. However, you can insert text in a text box, which allows up to 1,000 characters. You can customize your template as per need.
As a workaround, you could use multiple text boxes to fit your 2,000-character requirement. Keep in mind that while the footer section also has a text box with a 1,000-character limit, you can add additional text boxes, adjust fonts, etc.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Shaz π that worked out perfectly although if my quote had more items I wouldn't have enough room. The quoted items would overwrite the template text boxes. Is there a way of creating 2nd page for the template?

Why are you trying to put items in the text box?

@Julie C Unfortunately not, so I'd recommend reducing the font size of your T&Cs text &/or rewording it to fit π¬

@Acctd4 Shaz, its should work fine for now. Thanks for the tips. It would be a nice addition to be able to have a page of terms and conditions printable on forms such as invoices and quotes π
@GerryWinter I am adding a template for my construction quotes where I would like to add a list of standard terms and conditions to each quote π
@Reeta thank you π

Hi @Julie C
Is there anything preventing the inclusion of a separate PDF that contains the Terms and Conditions when you send those quotes out?
If you have a separate terms and conditions document as a PDF, you could merge the PDF that contains the quote with the PDF that contains the Terms and Conditions (although this would be a separate process that would be done outside of the Reckon Accounts software)

Hi @Julie C
You indicated to Shaz that "β¦Β although if my quote had more items I wouldn't have enough room. The quoted items would overwrite the template text boxes. Is there a way of creating 2nd page for the template?"
There is no option to add a separate 2nd or 'ending page' for a multi-page estimate/invoice document that only contains a Terms and Conditions text.
When you add the Terms and Conditions to the Estimate or other template, such as through the addition of one or more additional TEXT BOX elements, is the size of the font still allowing it to be easily readable?
Adjusting the data fields within the template Layout Designer so that there is no overlap between the text box elements that contain the Terms and Conditions text and the individual lines containing the Items for the products or services in that quote, may require less item lines to be present yet still include the terms and conditions text on 'each page' of the estimate document that is created.
