SETTING UP SUPERANNUATION DETAILS FOR NEW EMPLOYEE AND ASKING FOR FINANCIAL DETAILS
Hi Team,
I am in the process of setting up a new employee in Reckon Payroll, and when I am filling in the details for their superannuation fund, I am prompted to fill in Financial Institution Details.
None of our other superannuation funds previously set up have these details, and unless I put in the details requested, this page wouldn't save and close.
I had to create a dummy Bank name, bsb and bank account number so I could close this section of the employee set up profile.
What could be the issue here?

Dear @JEN ,
This is a recent change for SuperStream and ABA payment compatibility.
All new Superannuation Funds require financial institution details so that payments towards the Super Fund can be handled via ABA payment or through the SuperStream service.

Thanks for the quick reply.
We don't use the Superstream service or ABA payment to pay our Superannuation, so I shall just leave the dummy details I entered.

That would be advisable.
If you need to change it, the fields do not lock up, and should only appear on a few minor reports.

I am having this issue too, I'm thinking of using OUR banking details???

Also having this issue for one of our employees. Called the super fund to try to get the details. They would not give them out. Told me that the SG payments go into a nominated bank account attached to the clearing house (in this case BEAM) and then the clearing house (BEAM) disseminates the payments to the superannuation fund. So what do you advise we fill in for the section asking for financial institution details?

The latest update to Reckon Payroll a couple of weeks ago changed the requirement around financial institution details for super funds back to optional. Check out details on the previous update here - Reckon Payroll update! ✨ Managing the default super fund and lots more improvements!
You no longer need to enter bank account details when creating a super fund in Reckon Payroll.
