Barcode scanner problem

When I press barcode scanner button instead of showing the barcode in POS this messege shows:
Layby payment function cannot be used in a transaction...
so I can't lookup or enter any prodoct barcode
my scanner is cino 2620

    Are you sure you have programmed the barcode scanner correctly? Scan a barcode into wordpad. If you don't see the tilde (~) at the beginning, you will need to reprogramme it.

    I don't know whether you install a correct barcode scanner, I install this barcode scanner, you may also test it or you need to check your settings.
