cannot find file to restore data

Hi I had virus's in my computer and had to get windows reinstalled. I have reloaded my version of Quickbooks being 2007/2008 but cannot find the files to restore my data back to last week. please help.

    Hi Helen, it depends on where your data-files were being saved. If there were saved on the same hard-disk (or partition) which Windows was installed on and wiped (formatted), it would be lost. Try to search for a .QDF in the Windows search index, in case the file was stored on another hard drive or partition (recomended as reinstalling windows would not remove data from the other locations). If you do not have any backups on your machine please restore the most recent backup you made to an external source (USB drive, external drive, cloud drive etc). ^Mirko
