Invalid licence message after upgrading to Reckon Accounts 2017

I've just upgraded to Reckon Accounts 2017 from 2016 by first uninstalling the previous version. When I started the application I get an error dialog saying "Reckon Accounts is unable to find a valid licence key...". I entered the licence key that came with my upgrade.
Could the licence file be corrupted?

Hi Craig,
Welcome to the Reckon Community.
Move your datafile (.qdf) with all its ancillary files (.qph, hcx, idx, etc) to the Public folder. (C:\Users\Public\Documents) and try again.
Best way is to create a backup with the Backup data to compressed archive (.rkn) file option selected. Then restore it to the new folder.
regards,
