Quicken personal 2010 failing to save fioe

My Quicken personal 2010 software is no longer saving files to my laptop when I close them - I have to rely on files backed up to a usp drive instead. Is there a solution to this, or do I need more recent software? if the latter, what's the best replacement for purely personal financial management/tracking?

    Personal is still your best option, upgrading to 2021 is easy and i ca do a special rate for the first years, call me to discuss if you are interested.

    In the unlikely event anyone else has this problem I solved it by copying the USB backup file onto my hard drive (obvious in retrospect). Just decaying software. An upgrade is still needed anyway.
