error installing, will Premier product meet reqs requirements
Hello,
I'm trying to decide between MYOB and Reckon. Specific requirements and related problems I have are:
- I need to be able to bundle SKU's into Product offerings. It appears I need the desktop Premier app for this, which only runs on PC. I'm on a Mac and have been unable to install a trial version into my Virtual PC. Error message attached, can't find any ref to Error 1920.
- Good stock adjustment handling
- Be able to attribute different prices to SKU's bought at different times from suppliers
- Report on quantity at hand for a given date.
- Ability to create on-line invoices and when paid output picking slips and mailing labels.
- Is Premier the right product, can it be installed on a virtual machine?
Thanks.

Unfortunately the desktop version isn’t compatible with a Mac which is probably the cause of the errors you’re encountering.
Sounds like you’d be better with Reckon Accounts Hosted - This is the next version up from desktop Premier (aka “Enterprise”) but is stored on Reckon’s encrypted servers (hence the “Hosted” name) & accessed via any web browser (including Safari) making it accessible from any device anywhere.
PS The Reckon Accounts range (including Hosted) is far superior to MYOB, particularly for Inventory & reporting!

Thanks for the reply. I started a trial of Accounts Hosted but it does not support a key need I have which is to build packages from a number of SKU's. For example I want to gather 4 products together for a Christmas gifts special. Accounts Hosted dialog box says I need Accounts premier to do this "adding assembled units to inventory and deducting component units from inventory when you build assembly items" requires Accounts Premier. Or is there some way I can do this?
Whilst I have a Mac I am running a virtual PC on the Mac. MYOB PC software runs fine in this virtual machine, I can't get Reckon to even install.
I'd prefer to use Accounts hosted but will go with MYOB if I can't solve my combing SKU's into packages challenge.

Hosted is a higher version & definitely supports inventory assemblies - You may just need to enable that particular Preference (Under Edit dropdown menu > Preferences):

Thanks so much, that was very helpful. Have been able to do exactly to test that out.
