I have logged in this morning to lodge weekly Single Touch Payroll and discovered last Thursday my submission is incorrect it has doubled my Total Gross Pay and my PAYG. Not sure what I should do. Do I contact the ATO do a not do a week so it adds up at the end of the year. Sorry I am confused and annoyed with myself.

    Hi Marilyn

Although it displays that payrun's amounts, each Single Touch Payroll submission UPDATES THE YTD BALANCES, rather than reporting that specific pay run's totals.

What you need to do depends on what's happened - Are you saying you uploaded the same submission twice or is the last submission displaying incorrect totals ?

If the last submission shows incorrect amounts, you'll need to check your RAH payroll data/reports to determine why.

You should always check your totals before any submission - this ensures it's correct every time (& that the "Finalise Year" process will be a 5 minute job rather than a 5-hour one!)

I use a Payroll Summary, Modified to Display columns by ... as per the applicable pay runs (eg Week, Two Week etc) The last column each time contains that pay runs totals (as per your initial Process Single Touch Payroll screen with the current YTD balances reflected under the report's TOTAL column:
