Sharing company files with a number of reckon Hosted users.

I have setup the users & roles list in the company file section, checked & rechecked it. But then went into the control panel, file management, manage shared folder access, now when in the 'select the user,' The only user that shows up is Admin user.

I found the guidelines for the 'Sharing a Company File for the first time in Hosted, the A, B & C process? It was very helpful, but there is something I am doing that doesn't allow the Users & Roles list to come across or it is in the initial setup in the 'Control Panel'

Would anyone have an idea of my dilemma? It can only be a little thing not getting done properly!

If you only have a 1 user license, the users will have to log into the same account and then enter their username and password to open the file. You only share the file if a user has their own Reckon account login, it sounds to me as though you only have your own login, is that correct? And then you have separate users to access the file, which only one at a time can be logged on

Thank you Kris, Yes, you are correct, we are a 1 licence user, But they have been separated & have their own access username & P/word, their roles assigned. These were assigned in the Company window, it is now when you go to select 'shared folder access' in Control Panel and select them to use and access [to add them in] now this is where the problem is. Their usernames & access details don't show up & even to search for, they are not there, for you to add in.

We have three separate access users, one is a seldom user, to collect info only, one is the accountant and other is management, to insert data, invoices & pay accounts during month, which in many cases is after office hours. We do have two different companies recorded in for accounts, which the accountant requires access to, while the other two require only one company assigned to them.

Like I said it is probably a tick of a box or a single step not included in setup. Has anyone had similar setup issues?

I still don’t believe you need to select shared folder access, with a one user license you’re not sharing the folder just opening the file with a different username and password. I have a file with extra users and I didn’t have to share the file, just go to file - open and enter the relevant username
