Syntax Error Upgrading to 2024

Hi, We have a huge file and the only way to upgrade each year is via a portable file. This year I have tried a number of times and I got this error - Syntax Error Near '-' on line 1. What do I do please? Thanks

    Are you able to run a verify on the file?

    Does it finish normally?

    The other alternative I would try is updating it on the desktop software first. You can get a IKC for Reckon 2024 Enterprise from Reckon Tec h Support

    I have a few brief questions to try diagnose your issue:

    1. How large is your company file in KB? (You should be able to see this value by going File → Open or Restore → Open Company File)
    2. When was the last time you did a Full Verification Backup? (File → Save Copy or Backup → Save Backup File (.QBB) → Options → Full Verificaiton ticked)
    3. How many years have you been upgrading via Portable File?
    4. What is the portable backup copy named?

    Once I have these answers, I should be able to get some details on how best to continue with your file.

    Good starting point. Its why I mentioned the verify. It's also why I suggested taking the file off line. I find it's easier to do these tasks on the desktop version of the software. Lets hope we get an answer.
