Is it possible to create an account file which contains the past five years of data only?

I have inherited a Reckon Hosted accounts file which goes back to 2002. There are overdue debtors dating back to 2009 which were never written off. The chart of accounts has no numbers and list items which haven't been in use for many years. The customer list has so many entries (we're a subscription based business) that when I search for a customer it doesn't work. There are amounts in undeposited funds from the early 2000s which were never reconciled.

Would love to be able to archive the years 2002-2018 and set up the chart of accounts anew. We are an NFP and don't have an accounting firm to call on. If this is possible, will pay to have someone to get it set up the way we want.
