Does anyone else find price level lists cumbersome to use?
We currently have a number of price levels set up but it is incredibly time consuming to maintain them due the lack of ability to filter and search the items in the list.
We use price lists so that particular customers have discounts on a selected range of items (eg items from one department) - not simply a discount across all items. It would be great to be able to select items that apply to any given price level, have these display in a separate screen, instead of having to scroll through the list to find each item (we have approx 1000 items), so that adjusting prices is faster. Any thoughts???

HI Carrie,
I have a client that runs 13 plus price levels on 14000 items. I find it best to export the prices out in excel, get them to fix/adjust. Then I use Zed_Axis to import them back in. I do this reg for them. They have Zed Axis on their computer and I login via Remote desktop and do the import.

Hi Gillian, Thanks for the reply. The problem is remembering which items have had a price change when you do the export and adjustment. It would seem logical to be able to update sales prices from the Enter Bill screen - it already prompts to save the changes to the purchase price and that would be the ideal time to be able to adjust the price for that item in each price level list (without having to manually open every price level list, scroll all the way through the list to find the item and finally adjust it). We do have to adjust the sales price as soon as possible so that we don't lose money on that item.
Any solutions RECKON?

Carrie,
Unfortunately unless your price increase is based on cost plus a percentage for different customers, or base sale price less %, it means you are creating a fixed price per item per customer and yes this does require work and monitoring because it is individually catered for. you dont have to be in single user to export price level list that shows prices for all levels by item and you can filter for the items before exporting if required, or filter after in excel. It is time consuming keeping price levels x items x fixed prices updated, but I do find Zed Axis to be the easiest way to import back in. You don't have to be in single user to import either.
Fixed prices per item has always been like this. I will watch with interest in this post to see if any other solutions popup.
Wish you well
Gillian

Hi Carrie,
As Gillian has indicated the way price levels are handled is not suitable for all use-cases.
The Zed Axis option has already mentioned.
If a specific application that meets your requirements does not yet exist in the Reckon Add-ons Marketplace, then this may require a custom developed solution by a 3rd party integration specialist who can make use of the Reckon Accounts API. Perhaps you could work with them to develop an integrated add-on that can be made available for others with similar needs.Regards,

Yes, per item price levels are a nightmare. It is totally unworkable if you have more than just a few items. Having to edit a price then go into each price level, find the item then alter it is such a ridiculous method. All per item price levels should show up in the edit item window.1

HI John,
sometimes the price level name needs a refresh and then it will show in list - edit the price level and put . at the end of name and save. - this should bring it back into list for export
