I just tried to lodge my payment summaries with the ATO portal. The lodgement failed with the message 'The file contains an illegal character at end of last report'. How can I fix this?
Are you trying to generate this out of 2016-17 or 2017-18
The last record would indicate that the last employee in the file, (probably the last in the list of your INB payment summary employee list) has a illegal character in some part of their record such as their name, address etc etc.
Illegal characters could include a umlout, apostrophe, comma etc etc
