Reckon Accounts 2019 tax update problem followed by missing DLL file

I run Reckon Accounts 2019 on a desktop, data files on the server. Just tried to update the tax file to 2019 with the appropriate updater. Runs OK, then stops with error message "Unable to apply patch. Programme not updated". Subsequently tried to boot up Reckon Accounts 2019, now get the error message "boost_regex-vc80-mt-p-1_33.dll is missing from your computer.. Help!

    Yes, as part of the upgrade from 2016 to 2019 and 2019 had been working OK until the attempted tax file update

    sounds like you did not follow the instructions for applying the patch and didnt restart your computer before trying to install the patch - this trashes the installation... so now you need to go to the control panel - Programs & Features - select Reckon 2019 and repair the install... once this is done - check that you can start Reckon ok - this will be back to R1... now close Reckon - restart your computer - Do NOT open Reckon... install the patch again... should work ok...
