Retained Earning Account

Reckon Accounts Hosted 2016 - 
Retained Earning Account on Balance Sheet is showing a balance of $1608.53, click into the account and it shows a balance of $1151.63. Any suggestions of how I can find why this is different. there has been nothing posted to the account that I can see

    Hi Jo-Anne,

    Thanks for asking.

    There should be no reason for you to make changes to the default Retained Earnings Account - it accumulates the Net Income of previous years and is updated on the first day of the financial year.

    You can do a FastReport on this account from the Chart of Accounts List, set the date range to All, and examine any entries that are not "Closing Entry".
     
    Then, resort the Chart of Accounts List and rebuild your company file.
