I currently have an Australian company setup in Accounts Plus 2013. We have another company in New Zealand as well now and I'd like to set it up as well. Is this possible? How do I manage multiple countries/regions in ReckonAccounts Plus? Currently if I start a new company, it wants an ABN, and not an IRD number.

You are able to purchase a NZ version of Reckon Accounts. Perhaps consider the online version so it can be accessed via the internet? I have a client who is in your same situation and this is what they do and it works very well for them!

Ah ok. So I'm a little confused. The version I have is for Aus/NZ. I just set the region when I install (and can change the region as well).

Do I need to have 2 installations of ReckonAccounts on my PC, one for AU and one for NZ? How do other people manage multiple companies from different countries? Multiple installs on the one PC (multiple licences)? I can't move to cloud just yet.

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated.

    Hi DJVege,

When dealing with companies in a foreign jusrisdiction your options are:

    1. Accounts Business Pro, Premier or Enterprise which have a multi-currency feature.  You can set up a second company file and set the home currency to NZ$.  The drawback of this option is that it still has Australian legal references - ATO, BAS and Australian tax rates, and not IRD.

    2. Purchase an NZ version of Plus. The drawback is that the second installation must be on a second PC as the AUS and NZ versions cannot run on the same PC.

    3.  The Hosted versions will allow you to access both from the one PC.

    Hope this clarifies the situation.

    John.
