How to create customer loyalty cards I have purchased 1000 prepaid with my business details on them for customer loyalty program. How do I set it up in premier or pos so that when a customer makes a purchase I can scan there card and purchase or loyalty points will be added

Hey, If you want to use a scanner then you will need to be able to print barcodes onto your customer loyalty cards. Once you have found a way to print a number on such as 123456 you will need to have a prefix of % so the number will look like %123456 and if your scanning into pos using the preprogrammed scanner then if you test on win notepad it will look like ~%123456 Good luck and happy pos-ing Chris0

Hi Renai,
A guide on using Loyalty Cards, including pre-printed ones, see the KB How to create a Customer Loyalty Card.

Thanks everyone My cards I have brought already have barcodes on them so I am guessing now I will have to print barcode stickers to replace the ones on card so they have ~% in front of number. I wish the guy who did them knew that when he said they work with quickbooks0

They may very well work with that product, after all they will work with Reckon Accounts just not POS as it as a full blown Reckon product and not affiliated with Intuit. Also remember that you only need the % symbol in front as the barcode scanner its self puts the ~ , so all the cards need to be printed as %123456 and only once there scanned with a barcode scanner for POS will it read as ~%123456. Probably best to ask for a sample pair before running the whole batch again and save some money while your getting it dialed into what you need
Good luck again
oh also may be worth giving Kevin's suggestion of the free barcode don't a shot, then once you have a working model give that to your printers to replicate. Happy POSing and remain POSitive he he I couldn't help it Chris

Hi Renai, In you open pos terminal and select the customer number button and select a customer that has a barcode, how does the barcode look, does it say "123456" or "%123456" it should be shown as the former otherwise pod will be looking for "%%123456" to come from the scanner. On that note, have you scanned one of your barcode into windows notepad to confirm the result of "~%123456" ? Regards, Chris0

PS: As the accounting software backend is no longer Quickbooks and is now Reckon Accounts or RA for short, could you please try to use the correct product name as people using google search to find help with their products may get confused or not find this thread at all
especially considering there is still an accounting software called "QuickBooks" that's is available but does not work with Reckon retail Point of sale
I know I sound like a fuss pot but we're all here together to help everyone. Regards, Chris

Hi, does each customer have a different barcode number entered? And what is the format its in when viewing it in the customers card in Reckon Accounts? And what is the format when you scan the barcode into Notepad?
I have tested this using the barcodes you can create in POS Admin by following this guide: http://kb.reckon.com.au//issue_view.asp?ID=3564 and it worked for me. But I am unable to test it with pre-printed bar codes as I don't have any.

Hey Renai, I know your asking for help but this community thing all works a little better if you reply to people a little faster as at least there on topic and we don't get distracted with something else while we wait. You'll find that people like Andrew and Kevin and I are on here at all kinds of stupid hours so you shouldn't need to wait too long for a response. Andrew has a great point, just open windows notepad(like ms word but without any fancy formatting that can trick us) and scan in a customer car 3 times in a row. Then take a screen shot of that and upload it here so we can have a look and see what's going wrong and how to help. If you only have an hour or so to look at it then I say give support a call and they should be able to get you squared away in one phone call or photocopy or scan a couple of the barcodes your using and email them to Shane and his team for testing. PS: I found this the other day and may help those who haven't had to take a screen shot before http://www.take-a-screenshot.org1
