I can't log in to the system today.... Yesterday was still fine. Below is the error message for Quickbook 2012/13: "Runtime error.... This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an usual way. Please contact the application support team for more information" Can someone please advise how?

    Hi Neo,

    Welcome to the Reckon Community.

    Sorry to hear you have encountered this problem.  There are several responses to this issue, depending when it occurs.

    What action causes Reckon Accounts to fail with this message?

    As a first step, please close your QuickBooks and then re-register the DLL files QuickBooks uses by going to your installation directory (default: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2012-13) and clicking on reboot.bat.

    Hope this helps.

    regards,
    John

    Hi John, Nice to hear from you. Tried what you said, but it doesn't work! There is a message appearing: !szfFileBuffer.empty() before it stated that : This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information" Any other ways to resolve this issue? Many thanks.

    Thanks for the update Neo, and sorry that step didn't fix it for you.

    That specific error message points to your installation becoming corrupt.  You will need to clean uninstall and re-install your application .  A guide is available in this article.

    If you are using a Windows 8 or 10 operating system, please refer to our posts:
    Running Older versions on newer technology;
    Windows 10 and Reckon Accounts.

    Remember, you may need to install the Tax Table Update - if you need a copy you can get it from the member site downloads page.

    Also, its best to make QuickBooks processes exceptions to your security systems - a guide is here.

    regards,
    John.
