I cannot get a tick or cross in the box on the Payment Summaries showing the employees are FBT exempt

Hi.  When you enter your Reportable Fringe Benefits figures into payroll, for the year to 31/3/2018, which is a special entry that you must do, there are two different options for the Tax Tracking.  One of these is for non-exempt benefits whilst the second one is called Reportable Fringe Benefits (tax exempt).  You need to select the second one in order to get the tick appear in the box on your payment summaries.

Doh!  I assume as we don't have Fringe Benefits to report, we don't have to show them as exempt or otherwise!!  I need a drink.

Correct.  A tick in either box only applies if you are required to include Reportable Fringe Benefits, included in your FBT Return to 31/3/2018.  You need to find another excuse to have that drink!!
