Reckon launcher failure

I have an HP laptop running Windows 19 and have been a Reckon user for over 30 years. I've been running Personal Plus 2017 and suddenly it crashed on opening with the error message Reckon Launcher not responding. I tried twice to reinstall from the original CD with the same result so I bought Personal 2021, installed it and activated it - with the same result again. I have not installed any other app recently. Help, please.

I have Reckon Personal Plus 2021 installed and recently have had trouble updating my share portfolio. I cannot get into my reports or even the help tab. In each case I get the message Reckon Accounts launcher is not responding and I need to close the program. Any suggestions please as to how to activate the program again?
