Backing up to USB Stick ?
I have been backing up my previous versions of my Reckon Person Plus to a USB stick, but when I go to restore from backup files from my USB stick it does not recognise the backups on my USB stick but they are on the USB stick by going into My PC and openning the USB stick so what is going on

Are you attempting to restore the backup file directly from the USB stick?
If so, try moving/copying the backup file to a local destination on your PC and then restoring. Once you've finished working on the file move the newly updated copy back to the USB.

Yes I am trying to restore from the USB stick that I have backed up my Quicken files to, but when I go to restore the only files that are recognised are the files backed up to my PC and nothing else

Well I don't know what I have done, I moved the only copy on my USB stick with the file name RKN onto my desktop and opened it and low and hold it opened in my new 2022 version? without me having to restore it to my new version, but this does not solve the backing up of file to my USB stick if Quicken does not recognise the backup, and only backing up to the PC is dangerous you always need a 1, 2 and 3 backup

It does not sound like you opened the backup but if you copied all the files then you actually opened a working file that was previously on your USB.

But this still does not solve the backing up problem and being confident that if anything untoward happens one can access and restore the program data?

I think you are right this has turned out to be a total stuff up, for when I try to backup Quicken they appear on my desktop as an icon of the two different registers, I don't think I mentioned that my new computer is running Windows 11 version? do you have TeamVeiwer on your computer?

I use a variety of programs to log into your machine including Teamviewer

Well that was a thrilling ride Gerry, and you fixed my backing up problems in no time Thanks for your help, the reason I took so long to accept your help was because I didn't know you and didn't like anyone remotely accessing my computer, but it all worked out so thanks again
