Screen freezes goes grey and does not respond when entering a transaction

I am running it on Windows 11 on a desktop computer and the program was operating normally until 3 days ago but sudden now freezes and becomes unresponsive and I have to shut it with Task Manager. All of the old data comes up but I am unable to enter anything new
