Multi-Factor Authentication available on Reckon Accounts Hosted

Hi everyone!

You can now add an additional layer of security to your Reckon Accounts Hosted account via multi-factor (MFA) authentication. This provides enhanced security and protection of your account and data.

You can add MFA through either SMS to a mobile phone number or via an authenticator app.

For full step by step instructions on setting up MFA and using MFA with Reckon Accounts Hosted, including how to revoke it if required, check out our help guide linked below -

    Hi Rav,

Is it possible to have the same authenticator app on 2 different phones that use the same log in details to open Reckon Hosted?

Or can you suggest how we can use MFA for two people with the same log in details?

    Thankyou

    Hi Meredith,

The MFA source is restricted to either one phone number for the SMS option or one authenticator app for the app method only.

Please note, MFA for Reckon Accounts Hosted is optional and not a mandatory requirement for your account login.

    Thankyou Rav,

This is what I thought you may say. My client has mentioned a few times she would like the MFA but the only way now is to buy another licence correct? Which is too costly for the amount of times she actually logs in.

What about the accountant, will he have to buy a licence too?

    Thanks

    Hi Rav,

Since my client would like to implement using MFA, can you explain how we go about accessing our software licence, between 3 people that live in three different states?

    Thankyou

    Hi Meredith

Are you currently sharing login credentials with multiple users? Best practice is that each Reckon Accounts Hosted user requires their own license. Since MFA is active on the account login itself if you are currently sharing login credentials between individuals then its not a suitable option for your use case.
