Is there a Payroll Report equivalent to the old Payroll Premier Pays Report

Hello, is there a report I can modify to achieve something similar to the below report from the old Payroll Premier? This was good for OHS hours / LTI reporting etc. I am trying to achieve a report for total hours and or total payments over specific periods, collated like the below.

I am currently uploading a 'Payroll Detail' report from Reckon Payroll to Excel for every pay, then converting text to numbers and then manually collating figures from each pay to get a quarterly figure.

The Reckon Payroll reports don't collate as a total for more than one pay period, each pay period is separated. Appreciate any feedback if there is an easier way to do this in the new Reckon Payroll. Thank you - Gayle

    Hi @Gayle_10863666

I can't say I'm familiar with the Pays Report in the old Payroll Premier software but looking at Reckon Payroll specifically, you're correct there isn't a 'total' when it comes to combining pay runs over a specific time period. Were you using the Pays Report from the former software on a frequent basis?

In regard to your process of exporting and manipulating the data from the Payroll Detail report, does the Pay Run screen not provide you the required/relevant info per employee for your requirements? ie. I know its not an ideal process since there isn't a total but do you find it easier to export the report etc?

Hello Rav, yes I used the old pays report every pay, month end, end of quarter etc. very handy to be able to report on total hours for any given period. Also used it for TRIFR reporting, second screen print below (total recordable injury frequency rates).

Also other things like portable long service leave, total hours are required for this, I do my own spreadsheet every pay for this, handy to be able to cross check it with payroll, the old payroll premier pays report gave total hours and dollars all on the one report for any given period.

This first screen shot is what I am having to do to get a report on hours per work sites after exporting the payroll detail report, I do this every fortnightly pay and then it has to be collated again depending on situation/reporting e.g. monthly, quarterly etc.

I convert all text to numbers, then I add an hours column and copy all the QTY column to the new hours column, I then remove all the allowances QTY, then extract the hours over to the sites where hours were worked. At the end of the report I then have a total of hours as well as a total over sites. A bit of an effort for 42 employees!

This is an extract of TRIFR reporting I do on ISNetword (a global company for contractor and supplier information management) - the exposure hours (below) I used to get from one report in Payroll Premier, is now such a time consuming chore to retrieve the data, it's all there in payroll, just frustrating that I can't access hours over specific periods collated in the one report.

Thanks for the feedback and context on this @Gayle_10863666.

When the full team are back on board, I'll send this over to my friends in the product team for their consideration. In the meantime though, I'd highly recommend that you add this as a feature request on our Ideas Portal HERE as the teams are on the lookout for feedback/suggestions directly from users to formulate future updates (where feasible). I'll add a vote to it as well once you've had the chance to put it up 😊

The custom pays report was so useful. I used this everyday in the old software; definitely a downgrade no longer having this available - totally agree Gayle. I have mentioned this a couple of times myself.

I agree with Kali and Gayle above. Payroll Premier was so much more sophisticated with it's reporting options. Payroll for 22 people used to take 2 to 2.5 hours each week on average. I now have to extract the pays to my own spreadsheet manually because the Pays Report in Reckon Payroll cannot be extracted to Excel or PDF, on average the payroll is now taking me 3.5 to 4 hours on a good week. As we make payments to staff in 3 different states and as I am using Reckon Accounts hosted for accounting purposes, extracting all the information to Excel is the only way I can keep track of the various information required for reporting purposes and accounting entries back into Hosted. I very much miss the use of Departments as a filter for reporting purposes.

To calculate hours for similar reporting to Gayle, I now have to rely on Timesheets in Reckon Accounts Hosted which we input for job costing rather than any reporting from Payroll.

I have also added suggestions to the ideas board but have had no luck.

When will the other reporting listed be available?

    Hi @Therese R

The reports you've highlighted are available through your companion Reckon One book that you have access to as part of your upgrade to Reckon Payroll.

If you click the message on-screen it will take you directly through to the report in your companion book for you to generate.

Here's a quick screen recording below just as an example (click on it for a larger view) πŸ‘‡

Thanks Rav - that will be useful.

Are there any plans to bring back Departments as a filter in the Employee configuration and will we be able to save customised reports?

Its certainly on the radar @Therese R, however the feature request for it has only received 3 votes so far so if its something that you would find useful then I'd highly recommend you and others in this thread add your vote to it and even a comment with some details around your use case.

The product and design teams look at most voted/popular requests as voted from customers themselves to form decisions around future inclusions where feasible.

Hi, I also used the pays report for many reporting functions needed each payrun, EOM, EOY etc. and the departments function is also something that I need. I would also like to see a leave taken by employee report as this is something I also used on a regular basis.

    Thanks,

I miss this payroll report feature in the old Payroll Premier. It was so useful for a number of reasons.

Please look implementing it in this Reckon software, Dev Team.

    Thanks.
