Reckon Mate - permission settings

Hi Rav,

I'd like to test this out with myself before i roll out to our employees/clients.

Where do I find the below settings?

I am solely using Reckon Payroll only; no other modules. Rolled over from Desktop Payroll Premier.

Hi @Kali

I'd say you're already an admin of your Reckon Payroll book so you'll already have the required permission level so the above is likely not necessary.

However to answer your question, you'll find those specific settings in your companion Reckon One book by going to Settings ➡️ Roles ➡️ Select the role.

Just a quick tip, if you're going to test out Reckon Mate yourself you'll need to ensure you sign in to the Reckon Mate app using a different account/email address than what your Reckon Payroll account is registered under ie. you won't be able to use the same sign-in that you use for Reckon Payroll (as the admin) on Reckon Mate.

Thanks Rav, I did note that so I changed my email address in my Reckon payroll profile. Once, i have done the initial set up can i change it back to my primary email or not?

This looks really good. Am i correct in thinking it will solely just mirror what we have in Reckon Payroll i.e if we make an adjustment to their leave accrual it will reflect their end in real time?

And to be 100% clear, this is only read-only their end - they cannot make any changes to any details? Including their personal address i.e tax, address etc. They will need to continue to contact us to make these changes?

Essentially, I want them to be able to see their leave accruals and access pay slips but nothing else (general employment, tax details is fine too).

Under the test I did i have 'My Pay', 'Details', Leave' & Settings and i essentially want the employees to have the same. We do not use timesheets so i don't want them to be able to enter their hours; which didn't appear under my profile so i assume that will be the same under theirs?

I could see a list of pay slips but not YTD totals. I thought I read this would show?

Just to clarify the above, did you change the email address of your Reckon Payroll account itself OR did you just change the email address on an employee profile?

Either way, yes you should be able to change the email address back. If you created the Reckon Mate account for testing only, you can also revoke the Reckon Mate invite from Settings ➡️ Reckon Mate Invitations

That's correct, Reckon Mate will display information from Reckon Payroll so whenever you create a pay, update details etc it will show as such to an employee in the Mate app.

This new update for Reckon Mate is the first in a pretty major revamp for the app. We're going to be building Reckon Mate out with more functionality and features later on in the year including streamlined employee on-boarding, ability for an employee to update basic info eg. contact details etc and ability for an employee to enter timesheet data which will flow into Reckon Payroll among a few other cool things.

Currently though, yes its read-only and to update any details it will require the admin to do so in Reckon Payroll.

Yes this is a more recent change as we're reworking how we present running YTD balances in Reckon Payroll (and by extension, Reckon Mate) at the moment. Payslips available in Reckon Mate though will show the YTD balance.

Hi Rav,

I am also an employee of my own company so i changed it inside my employee profile, and sent myself an invite through their too.

With the pending add-ons are we going to be able to turn on which features we do and don't want?

I'm not sure on that to be honest, its a fair way down the road at this stage so there's still a lot scoping & planning still to occur.
