Hi there,

I'm using Reckon Payroll with MFA code to my mobile. I will be leaving overseas for just 1 x payrun. Is there an alternative to my Australian number while I'm overseas?

I remember reading about a workaround while ago that it was suggested to allow another user account to access Reckon Payroll? (i cant find the post or article anymore)

Only need it for 1 week then happy to resume MFA code to my mobile.

Any Suggestions? thanks in advance

    Hi Arron

MFA codes for Reckon Payroll can only be sent to an Australian mobile number however with that said, there are a couple of options you could look at in regard to access while you're away.

My first recommendation would be to temporarily switch from using SMS as your MFA method and instead switch over to using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator for your MFA codes.

There are a couple of important things to be aware of which I'II outline 👇

In order to access Reckon Payroll using an authenticator app for MFA you will need to do so by heading to portal.reckon.com rather than the usual payroll.reckon.com

Just sign in with your usual login credentials at portal.reckon.com then revoke the existing SMS MFA that you currently have set up by following the steps in our guide HERE however stop after completing step 4.

Once your SMS MFA has been revoked, click the Setup MFA button and this time select the option to use Google Authenticator as your MFA method and follow the prompts to set it up.

Once you have successfully setup MFA using your authenticator app, you can login anytime/anywhere from portal.reckon.com and enter the MFA code from your app. Once logged in click on Reckon Payroll on the left and open your book.

A separate second option could be to share your Reckon Payroll book and STP entity with another individual to give them access and ability to action any pay runs and STP submissions.

Hopefully the above makes sense but let me know if you have any questions.
