Salary Sacrifice for Superannuation Pre-Tax

One of our employees has opted to salary sacrifice an amount into his super. When I have processed his pay, it appears as Post Tax Deduction not Pre-Tax. I set it up as Salary Sacrifice (SS), should it be set as Salary Sacrifice for Super for it to be Post-Tax?

Can I just get a bit more detail on the above. What are you viewing or where are you seeing this?

Hi Rav,

In the Payroll Summary Report, it shows under the Post Tax Deduction Column and in the RESC Column, also on the payslip, it shows under Pay Items, not Superannuation (not sure if that is relevant)

I've just run a test by creating a basic pay run with earning, super guarantee and salary sacrifice as below 👇

I've then run a Payroll Summary report for this employee which shows the balance of salary sacrifice from the pay run under pre-tax deductions and RESC as below (click on the image for a larger view).

If you're running into a different result we may need a bit more info on how you're constructing the pay run and also which items you're using specifically. For example, are you using the default salary sacrifice item in Reckon Payroll or have you created your own custom salary sacrifice item?

Thanks Rav,

It looks like I have created the wrong Salary Sacrifice code, I should have chosen Salary Sacrifice for Super.

I will amend it in next week's pay run and see how it goes.
