Hi,

My reckon has gone slower after upgrading to the new version 2024. My invoices and all transactions are not just slower than usual.

It was faster when I used 2023 . And even support is really poor they give an excuse as they are not trained on technical support.

    Dear @scootling ,

I'm sorry to hear you had such difficulties with support. Our agents on the Reckon Accounts Desktop line should all be trained to assist you with these queries.

I have a few questions for you so I can diagnose why your Reckon Accounts 2024 may be slow:

    1. Where is your company file located?
    2. How old is your company file?
    3. How large is your company file?
    4. Outside of upgrading the file to 2024, when was the last time you did a backup of your company file in-product?

Let me know - I'm always happy to help.

    Kind regards,

    Alexis McKeown

Hi Company file is located to our main system, its updated and data backed up is up to date 21/11/2024.

If you can get through anydesk support would be great. As I called 0800 number the guys over support are always sleepy and think they are just meant to give me basic first level support which i can do myself.

    Thanks

    Hi @scootling

When you say the file is located in your main system, what does that mean exactly? Is your main QBW file on a local PC, on a network, on a cloud storage location, mapped drive etc etc?

As Alexis asked above, how large is your company file?

Also, do you perform regular maintenance on your file? Conducting routine maintenance ensures you're getting the best performance out of it along with minimising risks of data corruption. We've put together a step by step help guide which I'll link below that is a really good starting point -

QBW is on a network, mapped drive, 1.09GB

Yes we do regular maintenance, back up each week to a pen drive and external hard drive etc follow all guidelines as advised.

    Thanks

    Dear @scootling ,

I have a few more questions for you:

    1. How often do you do a backup?
    2. How do you perform these backups?
    3. How much slower is Reckon currently operating (eg. is it taking 20+ seconds or over 1 minute)?

    Kind regards,

    Alexis McKeown
