Reckon Enterprise 2014 desktop version - network setup and banking online errors
We have Reckon Enterprise 2014 setup on network server with QB with 3 workstation users. When the Banking Online menu is used the application closes with an error that says
"Reckon Accounts has experienced a problem and must be shutdown. We apologize for the inconvenience."
We verify, resort lists and backup regularly. Any suggestions of what may cause this error and how we could rectify?

Hi Ann,
This may be due to characters such as \ , /, :, *, ?, ", <, > and | that exists in your company name.
To edit your Company name;
- From the Company menu, select Company Information...
- Edit the Company Name field and remove any of the characters mentioned above
- Click OK
- Restart QuickBooks
Now attempt to access the Online Banking Centre
Let us know how you go

Thank you however our company name and file name is only alpha numeric characters and we removed special characters from any fields in the file some months ago. Still having daily errors, any other suggestions?
I was thinking of using a workstation pc to put the datafile on and then just making it the host and sharing to the other users instead of using the database manager and server. I think the issue happens more when 3 to 4 users login. Even though Enterprise should allow up to 30 users it appears from discussions with Support, there are issues with multiple users above 3.
Any suggestions very welcome,

Hi Ann,
It may be due to permissions issue to the company file with the users accessing it in the shared folder.
Please make sure all users have full control to the shared folderNote: The specific QBDataServiceUser for each version requires Full Control to the shared folder:
· Reckon Accounts 2014: QBDataServiceUser23
· Reckon Accounts 2013: QBDataServiceUser22
· QuickBooks 2012-13: QBDataServiceUser21
- QuickBooks 2008-09: QBDataServiceUser17
- Right-click the shared folder containing the QuickBooks company files and select Share With > Specific People.
- In the File Sharing window, enter the name you want to add or use the drop-down arrow to select the user and click the Add button.
- In the Permission Level column, select the Read drop-down arrow and select Read/Write.
- Click Share. You will see a confirmation message stating, Your folder is shared. Click Done.
If you do not see the QBDataServiceUserXX listed in the FileSharing window, repeat steps 2 - 4 to add the user for your product.
