I'm upgrading from 2012 to 2015 Australian version I have the same issue as seen in other posts. I have followed all the previous known solutions; 1., Disabling/ reinstating the printer spool 2., simple start-up checking MS installer is running. 3., completely uninstalling previous version of QB 2012 and all associated programs. I'm now left with my business crippled and wasted 6hrs of my life. Need an solution to this ASAP. How you guys believe it is good business sense to release unfinished unreliable software is beyond me (just don't diversify into pharma or auto industry whatever you do). If I can't resolve you will force my hand to move over to MYOB.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your post.
As per the error you mentioned, it could be an issue your Microsoft Runtime Library.
Please try:
1) Login as the local built-in Administrator to Windows
2) Manually end the MSIEXEC.EXE process via Task Manager
3) Reinstall the Microsoft Runtime Librariesas per: http://kb.reckon.com.au/issue_view.asp?ID=4848
Hope that helps you.
Regards,
Michael0
