Error on Line 4: Imported record has an invalid date. It should be MM/DD/YY
I am using Reckon Accounts Hosted Edition 2016
I have always gone to my PayPal account, and downloaded all my transactions as iif files, then uploaded them to Reckon Accounts Hosted, and then imported the files as iif files.
This is the first time I have ever seen this warning. I tried changing the general date preferences in Reckon, unticking the "show date format as 4 numbers" but this hasn't helped.
I really need to import my paypal transactions.

Can you share a sample IIF file ? or the date value that you have in your IIF ?

I'm not sure how to open an IIF file, to look for the date value.

If you are using Windows, you can open Excel, then drag the IIF file to Excel window, you will be able to see the data in a proper layout.

You can send the file to my email at phuong@quickbooks.vn. I can take a look and let you know.

OK, so the date value in your file has DD/MM/YYYY format, and Reckon expect to read it as MM/DD/YY, so instead of 28/07/2016, it should be 07/28/2016

So do I need to edit my Reckon file to accept DD/MM or do I need to do something in PayPal so that it will download in the correct date format?0
-
There is nothing you can do with Reckon, you will need to change in Paypal (I'm not sure how yet) or manually change the IIF file.

Thank you. I have been importing in this manner for years, and now all of a sudden, the date format has changed in Reckon. Looking at all my previous iif files, they have always been presented in the DD/MM format. Now all of a sudden, I need to reformat the files into MM/DD format.0
-
Wait, my apologies!!! Just checked previous iif files and they were all in the MM/DD/YYYY format, so PayPal must have changed the format for downloading. I'll contact PayPal, and if I find a solution, I'll post it here0

Cool, good luck

The DD/MM/YYYY is now hard wired into all iif file downloads, if you are an Australian PayPal Customer. There is no way to change the date format, short of trying to change it in excel and then changing it back to an iif File.

Hello, I have the same problem but when I look at the IFF file in excel the dates are already MM/DD/YY. Any advice on how to fix this?0
