I have a scheduled backup daily at 6pm
About a week ago, the computer was shutdown at time of the scheduled backup, so backup failed.
Since then the scheduled backup has worked correctly, QBB files are created correctly every day, but this error still occurs every time I open RA.
I click OK and company file opens normally
I have tried:
Rename QBBackup.log, backup correctly creates a new QBBackup.log file
The new QBBackup.log shows no errors
Verify data
Rebuild data
Repaired the installation
Removed and re-created the scheduled backup
Out of ideas, suggestions ??

Does it do it on a manual backup? Can you restore the QBB files? Check your QBW is not read only.
When you say you deleted the scheduled task, i'm guessing you done this via windows task scheduler? if not do so (check for extra ones) then delete qbbackup.sys manually.
Tasks can become corrupted.
I have also had to in the recent past manually create the task due to corruptions as RA couldn't create a task that worked (create via RA, then recreate via the task scheduler only copying the command-line from the task created via Reckon).

Yes manual backup works fine
If I run the scheduled task in Task Scheduler, also works correctly
Every time backup runs, there is a new QBB file created
QBB files restore correctly
The QBW cannot be read-only, I make changes in company file all the time, no issues
Just this meaningless error EVERY time I open Reckon Accounts...
It will be something in the registry or an INI file, but where to look ?????
Fully remove and re-install RA would probably fix it,
but would be a bit drastic for a stupid nuisance error

Yer I'm guessing that 2 backup tasks are running, second one not being able to access the file as the 1st is running. Corrupt task list i'm guessing, when you open the task scheduler are there any errors while it loads the list of tasks?
Try searching the registry for the filename.0 -
Thanks Tim. Looks like qbbackup.sys is the prime suspect, so when time permits, will do the following....
Delete the task in Windows Scheduled Tasks (there is only one)
Delete the scheduled backup within RA
Rename qbbackup.sys, forcing RA to create a new one
( For those following, it is in a hidden folder here )
C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2018
If the error goes away, will then create a new scheduled backup
Stay tuned

Thanks for your suggestion Tim, as above fixed the problem.
Created new scheduled backup task
Also discovered:
In the Windows Scheduled Task settings,
Even though the user "Steve" is a local administrator
"Run with highest privileges" must be ticked
If it is not ticked, the scheduled task will not run
This maybe an oddity with latest Windows 10, not sure
