Daily backup very slow since upgrade

Has anyone else had issues with performing their daily backup since upgrading to Premium Retail Edition 2022?

Where it used to take a maximum of 5 minutes to switch to single user mode, perform 2 backups and then switch back to mulit user mode it is now taking me a minimum of 15-20 minutes. I also get 'not responding' when doing both. It's also extremely slow to log in.
