Invoices with Horizontal Lines

Hi there

Just wondering if there is any way that Invoices to customers can have horizontal lines after each item? For some reason a client is requesting ''lines'' after each chargeable item on their invoices (think other accounting software does this). Perhaps it is because it helps with the importing of PDFs into other accounting software?

Thanks

Carol

Not that I'm aware of - The template can be edited quite significantly in terms of colour & style formatting, including different border lines around specific fields or columns, but this can't specifically insert lines in between Item rows 😬

I've not heard of that being an issue for importing before 🤔

Why not just use a bigger space between items

    Thanks Acctd4 & Charley

Yes I have customised the Invoice template as much as I can, put borders around each cell/section etc but they actually want horizontal lines after each item 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ which I don’t feel was possible🤔.

Example of what is required is attached - sample invoice from Xero - see how it has lines between each item?

This is something similar to what client requires in Reckon

I enter many bills for my son’s electrical contractor’s business, and I have to say that only a small handful of them have lines like these. I’m not saying it’s a bad idea but it’s not too common in my experience

Thanks Kris - a customer is requesting (Debtor) Invoice to be done with lines so just trying to accommodate that request (not sure why they need lines) but apparently it is required on their end ?

Don’t think it’s possible in Reckon, and as I said the same in a number of other programs that I gather from other suppliers

Only way its possible , is building and add on tool which can be exported on to this tool , which is based on cloud technology like Xero does. Cosmic Invoice has cloud looking Invoice format with coloured lines etc

    Hi @Carol Wooley

Would a placeholder item, with a name like "-----" or " _______" and a description of "_______________________" work for the client as a workaround?

It may not look very good, so the suggestion by @cosmic may be more suitable.

Oh Thanks Reckon Data Recovery Team

Actually I did think of that too - I tried to just type a line "_______" as an item but I will have to see if the clients want the line to go ÄLL across the width of the invoice then that is a problem too

Thank you again so much to everyone for your valuable contributions/suggestions and assisitance in this matter/query - greatly apprecaited

    have a lovely evening all
