MFA on shared terminal
How do I set up MFA on a shared terminal where different people will be accessing it?

MFA is for one phone number per license in this situation.
If you have multiple people accessing Hosted, please remember that there can be only one user per license.
In this instance, if you wish to have more users accessing Hosted, you may want to consider adding more licenses.
Otherwise, we cannot advise on setting up MFA for multiple users.

So If we have a shared terminal, eg on our shop counter, where different people will be using it depending on who is in the shop, how do we proceed?
We already have multiple licenses for all our users, and two for our counter terminals.

Once MFA becomes mandatory for Reckon Accounts Hosted next month, it will only appear once in a 24 hour period for the specific user that has logged in. Once the user has successfully passed MFA for their specific login/licence it won't appear again for another 24 hours.

I understand that. But as I stated, it is a common shop counter terminal, and multiple people will be using it when we have customers. They will all need to have the ability to pass the MFA when they are on duty.

Could you not have a dedicated phone that stays by the terminal and be used for MFA only

No thought has been given to job sharing/ equipment sharing, travelling and using a cloud based system, sudden staff absenteeism, book keeper access, acountant access. Very shortsighted and no understanding of the difficulties small business have to deal with

I do agree and have found that this is not the case with Zero, my friend can share her file with anyone regardless of whether they have a license or not, as long as the Authenticator is used for access. And both husband and wife use the program at different places and they each use the Authenticator app.
I also use Quickbooks online for my son and haven’t been asked to setup MFA yet for logging in.

ZERO sounds very flexible.
We have also had to employ temp staff at times (working off site) to do data entry. So there goes another avenue of flexible working arrangements down the toilet.

mind you I love Reckon and would not even consider using anything else, but MFA is making some things quite difficult

Just needed to get this explained as a Xero certified user , any time , i mean any time i log in i need to Authenticate via my phone . Also same goes with my dev team or my offshore bookkeepers, they message me to authenticate , as the message comes on my mobile .
So NO ONE can login into my Xero accounts i have few , i always have to Authenticate. And thats how it should be , security is paramount when i have overseas team .
And as for Reckon same goes , this is good stuff. (Some thing has just been come to my thought, it should not affect via API connection .) 29 years now using Reckon
But, i can see like before my guys can log in to my any Reckon files , so for now for others , this will be a problem and disturbances and a additional cost.

If Reckon wants to grow perhaps striving for solutions and flexibility is warranted.

I think it could have been a choice, depending on the level of security required
