A unique MFA code will be generated and sent to your number when you trying to login Reckon Hosted. You will have to enter the code to login to Reckon Hosted once in a 24 hour period per device.

Just to clarify, is your question about the MFA code specifically OR the Recovery PIN that is used to revoke MFA?

I went to sign in this morning and it's asking for this MFA code. I was told yesterday that I would receive a code sent to my phone each day which I didn't get.

Did you setup your MFA via phone number for SMS or using an authenticator app?
The MFA code you need to enter will go to the same source that you setup yesterday ie. the authenticator app or phone number for SMS.

I just scanned the code on my phone and it gave me a code to the key so I don't know if It's on my SMS or authenticator app. When I go to the Authenticator app it's only giving my Microsoft account and they have longer codes. Is there any way to change it to SMS so I don't have this problem again?

If you scanned the QR code when setting it up yesterday, then it sounds like you used an authenticator app so the MFA entry with your code should be in the same app that you used.
Yes, you can change it over to SMS instead, you will need to revoke the existing MFA from your account first and this can be done in a few ways outlined here - Revoking your current MFA from your Reckon Accounts Hosted account 🔓
If you're unable to do so via any of the methods outlined in that linked post then please give our support team a call and a team member will be able to assist in doing so after a quick security check.

Because I can't get the authenticator app I'm assuming I can't get a recovery code? What number should I ring to get this sorted, please?

No, the Recovery PIN is completely separate from your authenticator app.
Your specific Recovery PIN would have appeared right at the end of the setup process with a message like the below.Give our support team a call on 1300 799 150 and a team member can organise the removal of the existing MFA on your account.
