MFA Thread Email

Hi Rav

Sorry I did not explain that well, my Google Authenticator is connected to one email address ie I can click the Icon top right corner and flip it over to my business email address.

I have Reckon Portal in both now, but wish to remove it from my personal email, and leave it only in by Business Email, but I am worried that if I revoke in my personal email how to tell Reckon Hosted to accept the code from the Business Authenticator.

Hence changing email addresses.

Does this make sense?

Gotcha, yes that makes it a lot clearer, thanks @Barbara Allen-Guthrie

Ok, when you sign in to Hosted now do enter the code that appears under your personal or business email address? Or does it not matter? ie. they're both the same and work?

Here's my recommendation just to make things simple and clean.

Remove MFA from your Hosted account first by revoking it (instructions HERE). Then once you've done that, remove the MFA from your Google Authenticator app under both your personal and business account.

Login to Hosted and setup MFA again under the correct email address that you want to use moving forward. That way you'll know what is the most current entry and will be the only one to use from here on in.

Hopefully that makes sense but let me know your thoughts.

Thanks Rav I will look into this, trouble is not really wishing to remove the MFA app as I use it for Xero, Microsoft etc.. just wanting to change it over to my Business email, as in MFA I have a dropdown that you can slip over to one of the other email addresses, as a Bookkeeper somethings you need to use the companies email address for Accounts, so unfortunately I am juggling many email addresses.

Sorry let me clarify, I don't mean remove the MFA app altogether, just the entry you have in there for your Hosted account.

You can remove single, specific entries in the authenticator app by pressing and holding the specific one and then you'll see a trash bin icon. Your other entries for other apps eg. Other accounting software etc will remain as they are in your app.

If you do decide to go through with my above suggestion, it's important that you revoke MFA from Hosted itself first.

I'm probably not explaining very well 🫣

I'll try get you some screenshots of what I mean.
